From invitation to event entry
An international industry-event platform brought together the public website, registration for different guest types, brand discovery, access and check-in. We developed those paths as one flow between the attendee experience and the operations team.
Role-specific registration journeys, controlled ticket context, richer brand discovery, and dynamic handling of entrances and check-in status.
Experience view
Guests saw the event. The team needed the full context.
An attendee's role, selected brands, account, ticket and entrance had to move across different parts of the platform without losing meaning along the way.
Context
Built for the weeks before the event and the moment doors opened
The public website helped visitors discover brands and enter the right registration path. The dashboard held attendee data, categories, tickets, entrances and the information the operations team needed.
- Client context
- An international B2B fashion event connecting brands, buyers, exhibitors, press, creators and partners.
- CODEVENOM role
- Subcontracting delivery within a broader software-house engagement. The client identity and original interface remain confidential.
Problem
One event had several different attendee journeys
A buyer, exhibitor, press representative and partner did not provide the same data or follow the same path. Each still had to reach the correct account, ticket and entrance.
Different attendee types required different forms and different company and personal data.
A ticket type passed from the public website had to stay aligned with form state and the list of permitted values.
The brand directory needed categories, clear ordering and protection against displaying incomplete records.
The selected entrance and check-in status had to reach the dashboard and operational exports.
Scope
The scope connected the attendee experience with event operations
The work covered both customer-facing parts of the public website and tools used to configure and operate the event.
Registration strategies and interfaces for buyers, exhibitors, press and other attendee types
Ticket-context validation and extension of the model to creators and partners
Brand categories, an alphabetical directory, incomplete-record filtering and saved brands
Dynamic entrances, scanning support, check-in status and operational export data
Approach
We designed one journey, not a collection of separate screens
Each stage preserved what the next one needed: a public choice opened the correct registration path, registration created operational data, and the entrance completed the journey in the dashboard.
- 01
Separate the fields and behaviour specific to each attendee role.
- 02
Carry and validate ticket context explicitly between the public website and the dashboard.
- 03
Organise brand discovery around categories, the alphabet and saved selections.
- 04
Load entrances dynamically and preserve check-in information in both the interface and exports.
Delivered changes
Each stage received its own rules while sharing the same context
Instead of one overloaded form, the platform used specialised strategies. Instead of treating the directory and check-in as separate additions, they became parts of the same attendee journey.
Separate registration strategies for the main roles and a controlled shared fallback for additional types
Ticket-type synchronisation across the entry parameter, form state and permitted values
Brand-category management, public alphabetical navigation and saved brands supported through the API
Dynamic entrance selection, entrance context passed during scanning and a richer check-in view in exports
Result
The platform supported a coherent journey from discovery to entry
The delivered work added explicit role journeys, controlled ticket context, brand operations and the information needed at check-in. The available evidence verifies these mechanisms; it does not include attendance, registration-conversion or entrance-processing metrics.
